Growing tomatoes is a fun and rewarding task that yields fresh, delicious tomatoes. Tomatoes are easy to grow in any sunny spot with fertile soil or peat-free potting compost. Water them regularly and feed them weekly with high-potash fertilizer once they start flowering. Tomato plants come in two forms: determinate (bush) and indeterminate (cordon). Bush types are usually planted in growpots or hanging baskets while cordon varieties need plant support by bamboo canes, stakes, or trellises to help the plant grow tall without drooping over on themselves.
