Why Use
Gro-Sure Smart Seed Fast Start is a blend of quick growing, hard wearing lawn seed varieties that is ideal for over-seeding worn grass or filling in bare patches.
The fast acting lawn seed germinates in colder temperatures allowing you to extend the sowing season.
Seeds are treated with Aqua Gel technology for improved germination. Aqua Gel can absorb 400 x its weight in water, and slowly releases it back to the seeds, when the seeds require it to germinate. Aqua Gel is also an excellent bird deterrent and contains plant hormones to stimulate growth.

Expected Results
In good conditions blades of grass can usually be seen in under 2 weeks, however if the conditions are unfavourable this may take considerably longer.
When to Use
Sow when the soil temperature is between 7°C-18°C. If soil temperature is 6°C or less seed may not germinate or delay it's growth until temperature increases.
How to Use
Best Conditions: Lawn seed grows best when the soil temperature is consistently around 10"?18°C. Fast Start begins to germinate at 7" C. If conditions stray out of this range, time and rate of germination can be negatively impacted
Preparation
Clear away any debris and remove weeds before sowing
Sowing
Tip: In dry conditions, water the soil thoroughly the day before.
1. Shake the box to mix up the seeds.
2. Using the built-in side applicator, apply the seed at the following rate:
New Lawn (or Patch Repair): 40g/m2
Revitalising Existing Lawn: 30g/m2
3. Lightly rake to incorporate the seed into the soil surface
4. Walk over or roll the sown area to press the seed into the soil
Watering
Water the area thoroughly using a fine-rose watering can or sprinkler, taking care not to wash the seeds away.
In dry conditions, water daily to maintain soil moisture levels until seed germinates.
Aftercare
1. First cut at 5-8cm (2-3") high
2. Gradually lower the cutting height to about 2.5cm (1 inch). Do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass leaf at any one time
3. Feed your lawn after at least 2 cuts. Our recommended lawn feeds are: Westland SafeLawn, Aftercut Ultra Green, Aftercut Lawn Thickener

If you are ordering just Seeds then we offer a set delivery rate of £2.35 for all orders outside 5 miles of Horticentre and FREE delivery within 5 Miles of the store.

We deliver your purchases free of charge within 3 to 5 working days, when you are in a 5 mile range from our garden centre in Overton, Wakefield.
Delivery further than 5 miles of Horticentre in Overton
For delivery of your purchased goods at Horticentre a bit further away from our centre in Overton, we have the following options:
Excluding heavy or oversized goods
- Spend less than £40 and we will aim to deliver within 3-5 working days for £6.99
- Spend over £40 and we will aim to deliver within 3-5 working days free of charge
Including medium, heavy or oversized goods
- Medium sized goods [everything that's not on a pallet] will be delivered within 3-5 days, for £15
- All other heavy and oversized goods being palletized delivered at £49
Heavy Goods & Oversize Items
Some items are classed as heavy or oversize such as bags of compost, gravels, bird seed, large plastics, large boxed items or tools. These may have to be sent by special courier or pallet delivery and as such fall outside our usual delivery charges. This is per our standard Terms & Conditions and if you decide you would like heavy goods delivering then the cost will be shown at the checkout once you have added your postcode to your delivery address.

Fireworks Delivery
Unfortunately our commercial delivery partner is now unable to deliver fireworks and until a new partner can be found we are only able to offer local delivery. Vouchers
We send all our vouchers with own in-house courier or Royal Mail 1st Class Signed. The cost of this service is a flat rate of £2.35 however large value voucher orders may need to be sent by special courier for insurance purposes and there may be a surcharge to pay.
